THE MOVEMENT

How to perform

  1. Stand tall with the dumbbells by the sides and enough space to step forward.
  2. Take a controlled step and lower until both legs are in a stable lunge position.
  3. Drive through the front foot to bring the body forward into the next step.
  4. Repeat with the other leg while keeping stride length and knee tracking consistent.

IRONYOU / CORE

Core cues

  • Keep the front foot planted and let the knee track in line with the toes.
  • Control the descent instead of dropping into the bottom.
  • Match the stride and range of motion from side to side.

STAY SHARP

Common mistakes

  • Taking an inconsistent stride length from rep to rep.
  • Letting the front knee collapse inward.
  • Pushing off the back leg so much that the front leg does little work.
