IRONYOU STRENGTH RANKS

PUBLIC RANK CALCULATOR · FULL APP PRE-LAUNCH

How Do IronYou Strength Ranks Work?

A strength rank gives your lifting performance another way to be understood.

IronYou evaluates supported exercise performances using its own ranking system and places the result on a ladder from Copper to IRON. Different exercises can use different calculation methods, and your result depends on the inputs required for the movement you select.

Understand what goes into your rank, what it means and how to find your next milestone.

The public Rank Calculator is available on the website. The complete IronYou workout tracking application is preparing for public launch.

THE CALCULATION

How Does IronYou Calculate Strength Ranks?

IronYou calculates Strength Ranks using exercise-specific performance models. For supported strength exercises, it can estimate a strength value from a qualifying working set, using information such as lifted weight and repetitions. Additional inputs, including bodyweight and sex, may be required depending on the exercise.

Other supported exercises use different scoring methods, including points-based calculations for movements where a traditional weighted one-rep maximum is not the appropriate measurement. The calculated result is evaluated against IronYou's rank thresholds for the selected exercise.

There is no single calculation method that applies identically to every exercise.

One Rank System. Different Ways to Measure Performance.

Not every exercise can be evaluated in the same way. A Bench Press working set provides different performance information from a timed hold or an assisted movement.

IronYou uses supported calculation methods appropriate to the selected exercise. This allows different types of exercise performance to fit within the same overall rank ladder without pretending that every movement is measured identically.

Strength-Based Calculations

For eligible strength exercises, IronYou can estimate strength from a qualifying working set. Lifted weight and repetitions are important inputs, while additional information may be required by the selected calculation. The resulting estimate is evaluated through IronYou's exercise-specific ranking model.

Points-Based Calculations

Other supported exercises use points-based scoring methods. Depending on the movement, relevant performance information can include repetitions, duration, bodyweight or assistance. These methods are not interchangeable with an estimated one-rep maximum.

SUPPORTED EXERCISES127 exercises are listed in the current public calculator.
STRENGTH-ESTIMATION MODES108 exercises use strength-estimation modes, across 3 configured mode types.
POINTS-BASED MODES19 exercises use points-based scoring modes.
CALIBRATED REP RANGE1–15 repetitions for configured strength methods that enforce this range.

ESTIMATED STRENGTH

Do You Need to Test Your One-Rep Max?

Not necessarily. For supported strength calculations, IronYou can estimate one-rep maximum performance from a qualifying working set.

Instead of testing the heaviest weight you can lift for a single repetition, you can enter an eligible set with multiple repetitions. The calculator uses the recorded performance as an input to the selected strength calculation. An estimated one-rep maximum is a mathematical estimate, not a directly measured maximum lift.

INPUTS AND RANKS

Why Do Bodyweight, Repetitions and Other Inputs Matter?

The meaning of an exercise performance depends on what you're measuring. For a supported strength calculation, the weight lifted and the number of repetitions can provide information about the completed set.

Bodyweight and sex may also be required by the selected ranking model. Other exercises need different inputs to represent their performance. IronYou requests the information needed for the selected calculation instead of treating every exercise as identical.

Your rank reflects the selected exercise model and its required inputs — not just one lifting number.

THE RANK LADDER

What Do Copper, Silver, Gold, Titanium and IRON Mean?

IronYou uses its own five-stage strength ranking ladder. Each stage represents another performance milestone within the IronYou system.

Copper · I, II, IIISilver · I, II, IIIGold · I, II, IIITitanium · I, II, IIIIRON

A rank reflects how the evaluated performance fits into IronYou's exercise-specific model. It is not a universal strength standard, a world ranking or a claim that someone belongs to a particular percentage of all lifters.

Different exercises can produce different ranks for the same person.

NEXT-RANK TARGETS

What Does Your Next-Rank Target Mean?

Your current rank tells you where your evaluated performance stands within the IronYou ladder. A next-rank target shows another performance milestone to work toward.

For supported strength calculations, the calculator can show the weight required at the entered repetition count to reach the next rank. This helps connect your current result with a specific target.

A next-rank target is not a personalized recommendation for what you should lift in your next workout. It represents a ranking threshold, not a training prescription.

Use your rank as a milestone while making training decisions according to your abilities, technique and program.

Targets are not necessarily available for every calculation method or for users already at the highest rank.

EXERCISE-SPECIFIC RESULTS

Does the Same Rank Mean the Same Strength Across Exercises?

Not exactly. IronYou evaluates supported exercises through their own calculation models.

A Gold rank in Bench Press and a Gold rank in Squat are milestones within the same IronYou ladder, but they don't represent identical lifted weights or identical physical demands.

Ranks can help you follow progress across the exercises you train. They shouldn't be treated as proof that performances in different movements are directly equivalent.

RANKS AND TRAINING

A Rank Is a Milestone. Progress Is the Journey.

Reaching a new rank can be motivating, but one result doesn't tell the full story of your training.

Your workout history shows the sets, repetitions and weights behind your performances. Strength Ranks add milestones to that history, giving supported exercise improvements another form of recognition.

Track your workouts, understand your performance changes and use the rank system as one more way to follow your progress.

RANKS AND FRIENDS

Can Strength Ranks Be Part of Social Training?

Yes. IronYou Hub connects supported workout achievements with shared training activity.

When a recorded workout includes an available rank achievement, that milestone can become part of the information shown through Hub, subject to the user's sharing and privacy settings. Hub also includes a Core-powered comparison feature for authorized shared workouts, which may include supported rank context.

That feature compares available workout performances with your own matching exercise history. It does not automatically declare an overall winner between two lifters.

STRENGTH RANK QUESTIONS

How the system works.

What is an IronYou Strength Rank?

An IronYou Strength Rank is an exercise-specific performance milestone. Supported exercise results are evaluated using IronYou's own ranking models and placed on a ladder from Copper to IRON.

How are IronYou Strength Ranks calculated?

The calculation depends on the exercise. Supported strength exercises can use estimated strength from a qualifying working set, while other movements use different scoring methods. The calculator requests the inputs required by the selected exercise.

Do I need to know my one-rep maximum?

No. For eligible strength calculations, IronYou can estimate one-rep maximum performance from a qualifying working set. Other exercise methods do not necessarily use estimated 1RM.

Are IronYou ranks universal strength standards?

No. IronYou Strength Ranks belong to IronYou's own exercise-specific ranking system. They should not be interpreted as universal standards or population percentiles.

What happens when I reach the next rank?

When a supported evaluated performance meets the threshold for another level, the corresponding rank reflects that milestone. The next-rank target is a ranking goal, not an automatic workout recommendation.

Can I compare Strength Ranks with friends?

IronYou Hub supports shared workout achievements and Core-powered workout comparisons. Supported rank information may provide additional context, but the comparison feature does not produce an overall strength verdict.
