THE DIRECT ANSWER

Can You Compare Workouts With Friends in IronYou?

Yes. IronYou Hub includes a Core-powered workout comparison feature.

When you open a friend's shared workout that you're allowed to view, you can use Compare with me to review their recorded performances against your own training history.

The comparison focuses on exercises you've both performed, using your available previous and best performances as context.

It helps you understand the recorded differences without claiming to determine which person is stronger overall.

OPEN · COMPARE · UNDERSTAND

From Their Workout to Your Own Numbers.

Comparing workouts shouldn't require remembering what you lifted last month.

IronYou Hub connects shared workout records with the training history you've already logged.

  1. Open a Shared Workout.

A friend completes a workout and shares it through IronYou Hub. When your access permissions allow it, you can open the workout to explore its recorded activity.

  2. Compare With Me.

Use the Compare with me option from the shared workout. Core uses the available performance data from that workout and your own exercise history.

  3. Review the Differences.

See the recorded performances for exercises you've both trained, with your previous and best results available for comparison. Use the information to understand the difference between your recorded performances.

SAME EXERCISE / THREE REFERENCE POINTS

A Bench Press Example.

Imagine your friend Max finishes a workout that includes Bench Press.

You've trained Bench Press before, so IronYou has previous performances in your workout history.

Here's an illustrative comparison.

Illustrative Bench Press performance comparison
PerformanceBench Press
Max's shared workout60 kg × 8 reps
Your last performance60 kg × 9 reps
Your best recorded performance65 kg × 8 reps

In this example, your last recorded Bench Press performance includes one more repetition at the same weight than Max's shared workout.

Your personal best provides another reference point.

These records help you compare individual performances, but they don't establish who is stronger overall. Training conditions, technique, repetition ranges and other factors can affect the meaning of a comparison.

This example uses illustrative data, not real user records.

THE COMMON GROUND

Compare the Exercises You Have in Common.

A useful comparison starts with exercises you've both trained.

If your friend's shared workout includes Bench Press and you've logged Bench Press before, your existing records can provide useful context.

But not every workout contains the same exercises.

IronYou's comparison focuses on available matching exercise records rather than inventing results for movements you haven't logged.

That way, your training history stays grounded in what you've actually done.

READ THE RECORDS IN CONTEXT

A Comparison, Not a Final Verdict.

Lifting more weight in one workout doesn't automatically mean someone is the stronger lifter.

Your friend's session and your own training history may represent different conditions, goals or levels of effort.

IronYou Hub gives you recorded performance information to compare.

You can use those differences as motivation, celebrate a friend's progress or set a personal goal for your next workout.

The numbers are context — not a complete judgment of either lifter.

PERMISSION COMES FIRST

Compare Shared Workouts. Respect Privacy.

Your workout history is personal.

IronYou Hub uses sharing permissions to control access to social workout information.

A comparison uses the specific shared workout you're authorized to view together with your own available exercise history.

It does not give you unrestricted access to another user's private training records.

Friendly competition should never require giving up control over personal workout information.

SHARED MOTIVATION

Turn Someone Else's Progress Into Your Next Goal.

Sometimes, seeing a friend's workout is all the motivation you need.

Maybe they completed an extra repetition. Maybe they reached a new personal record.

With IronYou Hub, you can explore the workout behind those achievements and see how your own recorded performances compare.

Celebrate their progress. Keep working toward yours.

IronYou Hub lets you compare an authorized shared workout with your own available training history. Its Compare with me feature focuses on exercises you've both performed and uses previous and best performances for context.

No. A workout comparison shows recorded performance differences. It doesn't determine an overall winner or account for every factor that affects strength and workout performance.

Can I see my friend's private workout history?

No. Access to shared workouts depends on Hub's privacy and sharing permissions. The comparison uses the workout you're authorized to view and your own training history, not unrestricted access to your friend's private records.
